Hanan Awad is a Palestinian-American street photographer based in Houston, TX, whose powerful work has garnered international recognition. With a keen eye for capturing fading traditions and vanishing landscapes, Hanan’s photos effectively capture the story of the Palestinian people, through tragedy, displacement, and triumph. Her work has been featured in prestigious museum and gallery venues around the world, most notably the Image Festival in Amman, Jordan (2024); the P21 Gallery in London, England (2024); Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma in Rome, Italy (2024); La Biennale d’Arte in Venice, Italy (2022); and the Gallery al Quds in Washington DC, US (2019). Hanan’s work was also published in an issue of Jerusalem Quarterly (Institute for Palestine Studies) under the title “Letters from Jerusalem” (2018). Hanan holds a BA. from Rutgers University NJ in Middle Eastern Studies and a MA in Latin America and the Middle East from University Of Central Oklahoma as well as a certificate in filmmaking from the New York Film Academy.
